How to choose the engagement ring

An engagement ring is one of those once-in-a-lifetime purchases, so it's natural to want to get it right. The most classic option is a solitaire, a ring with a single diamond as its centerpiece, although there are also designs with multiple diamonds or colored stones for those seeking something more personal. In white gold, the diamond shines with a cooler, more contemporary brilliance, while yellow gold lends a warmer, more traditional touch.

When deciding, it helps to consider four aspects of the diamond: its size (carats), its color, its clarity, and its cut. The biggest diamond isn't necessary; rather, it should be the one that offers the best balance within your budget. And if it's a surprise and you don't know the size, don't worry, because it can almost always be adjusted later. The important thing is to choose a ring that makes that special person feel loved every time they look at it.
